ISSi has extensive experience in the design, implementation and maintenance of remediation solutions. Our remediation experience ranges from small, single-use sites to large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Our site remediation strategy and design are based on extensive remedial investigations and sound understanding of contaminant transport, chemical interactions, and subsurface conditions. ISSi staff evaluates clients' contaminated sites to design and develop the most appropriate, cost effective remediation approach.
ISSi looks to emerging technologies for the means to expedite the remediation of contamination from groundwater and soils, and to complete cleanup in the most cost effective manner. Innovative technologies for use with in-situ remediation systems are integral to ISSi’s design process. Often, contaminated sites with unusual or challenging hydro geologic characteristics may benefit from emerging technologies such as chemical oxidation and oxygen infusion. The use of new technologies can expedite cleanup to meet regulatory standards, and lower installation and operating costs.
As cleanup progresses, we critically evaluates test results, rather than just collecting data. By careful analysis of results, often the treatment approach can be modified to better focus treatment strategies to match the evolving site’s conditions.
Our technical staff keeps abreast of scientifically supportable emerging technologies accepted by regulatory agencies so that sites' remediation can be achieved more quickly and at less cost than previously possible. Examples include: monitored natural attenuation, enhanced managed attenuation and chemical oxidation.
Examples of our site remediation projects include:
Over 50 reviews of remedial designs and technologies for federal customers.
Regulatory agency negotiation for use of innovative technologies.
Oversight of implementation and maintenance of air spurge systems, groundwater treatment
systems, and iron curtain treatment systems.
Negotiation with regulatory agencies for in-site treatment for federal customers.
